Pat George Mitchell
For fifty years, Pat George Mitchell has shared her passion for dance and love of the arts with her students and the city of Longview. Ms Mitchell believes ballet should be accessible to everyone and it has been her life's work to develop the talents of young dancers and create memorable ballets.
Over the years Company members of Longview Ballet Theatre and students of the Studio of Creative Arts have had the opportunity to dance original ballets choreographed and designed by Ms Mitchell as well as great classics like Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, Cinderella and Nutcracker. Through the support of former creative partner Amanda Edge and with the gracious support of the Balanchine Trust and New York City Ballet, her dancers have danced Serenade, excerpts from Chaconne, Western Symphony, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Concerto Barocco and the Four Temperaments.
Currently, Longview Ballet Theatre has the privilege of a one of a kind partnership with Ballet West in Salt Lake City, Utah. This collaboration has brought dancers from Ballet West II and Longview Ballet Theatre together onstage in Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid, and Aladdin.
